How to fix no sound from YouTube in Google Chrome

Source

I recently had a problem where I could not get any sound to play when I was watching YouTube videos or playing flash games in Google Chrome. Other browsers, like FireFox and Opera worked fine. The cause of this bug comes from the newest flash player, version 11.3. This bug was really annoying because I had tried many solutions, but none had worked until I tried disabling all, but one of the flash player plugins.

I noticed that I had 3 different flash player plugins running in Google Chrome and thought that 1 should be enough. So I decided to disable 2 of the flash player plugins and leave one running and it worked! I had fixed my issue with no sound from Google Chrome when watching YouTube videos.

Here’s how I did it:

  1. Open a new tab and navigate to chrome://plugins/
  2. At the top right, click on +Details
  3. Scroll down until you see Flash
  4. Disable all the flash player plugins, but the one with the directory Macromed\Flash\NPSWF32_11_3_300_268.dll
  5. Open a new tab and go to YouTube
  6. Watch a video and you should be able to hear sound
  7. Enjoy

“Execute access is denied” error message connecting to new Web site

Here's a quick IIS Setup list of steps for a new web site. Maybe that's why you got the error.

Something I always forget the steps, and the order is critical.

  1. Create your new local asp.net website
  2. From windows explorer make the website source directory and its sub directories Read Write by setting the properties.
  3. Copy these web site folders and files to the isp provider web folder.
  4. Open up the IIS wizard and create new site. Point to the web folder.
  5. For IP address and port settings (default and 80 for me) add multiple host header values (e.g. www.mywebsite.net mywebsite.net etc.) to match your DNS values.

WD Anywhere Backup – How to quit MAC OSX 10.4

MAC is prevented from shutting down by this application after installing.

Simply Force Quit the first time. Maybe even before creating a backup plan as I think it is lost. (It came back, but by then I'd had to create another.)

The next time you boot and create a plan, the application will have enabled the Quit application file menu item.

I didn't have this problem in OSX 10.5, and a different version was available.

GoDaddy – Web hosting account, setup

1) On your PC create a website, using Microsoft Visual Studio.

2) Use Membership and Role Providers in ASP.NET 2.0. This will create a SQLEXPRESS database and attach it to your [running] SQLEXPRESS 2005 server. (MSDN2)

3) Copy the data from the local ASPNETDB.MDF to your SQL 2005 server on the Godaddy site. (Use Server Explorer and select Publish to provider. steps to follow).

4) In web.config change both your LocalSqlServer (which points to the Membership and Roles tables) and any other connection settings you may use to point to the Godaddy SQL server.

5) Copy Web Site to upload your files. NOTE: Don't copy your App_Data folder, as this is your local data, which the SQL 2005 server will replace.

Fix Internet Time issue not syncronizing.

This solved the problem:
"The RPC server is not available"

Troubleshooting
Clients not synchronized with servers can occur if the Windows Time service has been stopped manually. To resolve this issue, start the Windows Time service.

To start the Windows Time service: 1. Click Start, point to All Programs, point to Accessories, and then click Command Prompt.
2. Type net start w32time, and then press ENTER.

[4.3.6] Which recordable DVD format should I buy?

As explained in the previous sections, there are two main formats: "dash" (DVD-R/RW) and "plus" (DVD+R/RW). There's not much difference between them. They both record data and video, and they both read back data and play back video. Both formats are available as recordable drives for computers and as home video recorders. In spite of claims that one format is more compatible with players and drives, both formats are similarly compatible (see 4.3.1). There are speed differences, but it's a game of leapfrog. One format will come out with faster
write speeds, then the other one will match it or surpass it. 16x is the theoretical maximum speed, so the latest drives from both formats are close to the limit.

Modern "combo" drives can write to almost all disc formats (DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD+R, DVD+RW, CD-R, CD-RW). Older drives write only their DVD format, so you may have to get DVD+R/RW discs for a DVD+RW drive and DVD-R/RW discs for a DVD-RW drive.

The DVD+RW format has a few advantages when used in a computer, but if data backup or access speed is important, also consider the DVD-RAM format. DVD-RAM is fast and reliable, and the discs have an optional cartridge to help protect data. Most DVD-RAM drives also write DVD-R/RW discs, and some "super combo" drives write all three formats.
